Job Description: Develops, implements, and maintains computer-based systems to meet business requirements. Application Developers analyze, design, construct, train, and implement application systems. Activities include documenting decisions, adhering to standards and communicating with business groups. Other responsibilities may include providing standards/guidelines for development, responding to customer/client requests or events as they occur, and developing solutions to problems utilizing formal education and judgement.
Sales and Marketing IT (SMIT) Global Production Support (GPS) - manages operations and support of IT solutions for Sales and Marketing (SMG) Organization. GPS team sustains and maintains the solutions without interruptions or degradation in their service level. This role is for an Application Developer to work on the Business Analytics and Insights suite of applications for support and development. The candidate will be responsible for working with the Service Operations Manager for adhering to Support processes and KPIs, working with Incident Specialists for resolving technical issues, and development of the application bug fixes that meet quality standards for production.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
-Partnering with Support Specialists or Systems Analysts to gather and/or clarify requirements
-Interpreting requirements and providing design solutions that meet requirements
-Fixing or Developing capabilities and validating their functionality
-Developing test cases / scripts and partnering with team resources for QA activities
-Documentation of Solutions, design specs, standards, and developer guides or other technical documentation
-Transform requirements into new report design.
-Perform unit testing /functional testing/ integration testing.
- Identify root cause for Problems, and develop workarounds or permanent fixes
Qualifications
B.E. / B. Tech in Computer Science or equivalent

In the role of Application Developer, you will be joining a team of IT professionals who are focused on supporting and delivering solutions for various groups in Sales and Marketing. This position may work on a variety of programming languages which include but are not limited to MS - BI ( Microsoft BI ), C#, ASP.Net, Java, HTML5, CSS, and XML/JSON, and other reporting tools. You would be responsible for application support, application health that meets IT standards and predominantly in Cannel reporting area under Partner Relationship Mgmt service. Responsible for understanding specific vendor products being used, various web applications, standalone apps and client/server architectural blueprints, support tools, etc. Responsible for adhering to the ITIL framework while supporting applications using the tools provided. Ability to debug/troubleshoot is highly essential. Participate in hardware/software projects and deployment plans. Analyze work group systems and recommend solutions. Execute production processes. Perform/manage changes to servers/environment. Drive day to day business needs by managing processes and/or workflow. Responds to customer/client requests or events as they occurITERP/ MI. Develops solutions to problems utilizing formal education and judgment. Working with the wider team, the individual will collaborate cross organizationally to understand requirements, recommend, and extend and/or develop IT solutions which. Successful candidate will have knowledge of ITIL framework, Project Life Cycle (PLC) phases and demonstrate knowledge of good software design principles. Knowledge on Agile software development practices is an added advantage.

Knowledge v/s Luck
What is most important to get a job, is it knowledge or luck?
I am wondering why many people having great knowledge ,still they are jobless. They searched job whole day and at the end of the day they becomes frustrated and fade up because of not getting job.
For example one of my friend secured 80% above in graduation and having good skills and everything but still he got rejected in many companies interviews due to some reasons like communication problems,because of his simplicity and some other things.
On the other hand another friend who secured 60% marks in graduation and some how managed to passed in exams got easily job in big mnc. In aptitude also he didnt knew even one answers and ticked randomly on any answers in mcq type questions and got selected for interview.In interview also he got selected because interviewee asked same questions which he asked with other candidates and my friend practised that answers by asking with other candidates.As result he got job.
This type of incidents happened regularly and due to this type of incidents i cant able to decide a person should study hard or depends on luck.
why some people be so lucky that for them every doors of success open without any works or without droping a single sweat of body. Why talent have no value ? Why luck take credit for everything?
